Ive got an australian cattledog which developed a fear and reactivity towards strangers at the age of 6 months. Since then and after an incident, I’ve been practicing socialisation with her. She just turned 1 year old and she is already more relaxed. I keep an eye on her and tell people not to touch her, but take her everywhere I go and can take her (warehouse, cafe, restaurant, city, train, etc.). Everything within safe boundaries (muzzle) and within limits to crowds so I do nott “shock” / “scare” her.
Ive also hired a professional dog trainer that comes around once a month and do social walks.
She is definitely a lot of work, but I’d never give up on her.
How do I socialize my dog (6month old collie/shepherd) if she hasn’t gotten lose leash walking down great yet..
This is great. I can see how much that little dog loves you. Having another dog there that she feels comfortable with is a great idea. 😊
Is this a daily thing for puppies.
